Take Root Conference: Red State Perspectives on Reproductive Justice
February 24-25, 2012

OK4RJ is a proud partner in the Take Root Conference: Red State Perspectives on Reproductive Justice, coming to Norman, Oklahoma on February 24-25 2012, hosted by the University of Oklahoma Women’s and Gender Studies Program and the WGS Center for Social Justice, co-sponsored with the Student Organizer’s Collective, the Abortion Access Project, National Advocates for Pregnant Women, and Oklahoma State University Gender and Women’s Studies.  It is our hope to help bring together advocates and community members dedicated to an inclusive reproductive justice agenda that goes beyond the classical reproductive rights framework and incorporates racial justice, immigration rights, environmental justice, LGBTQ rights, disability rights, and many other social justice concerns into how we shape and defend our communities from inequality and injustice.

In the fight for reproductive justice, red state communities are almost always the front lines of the battle but are often times marginalized within larger conversations that take place with our allies on the coasts and other more “blue” regions.  We intend to create a safe space for red state voices to be heard in dialogue with each other, because who is more qualified to solve our problems but us?

Register for the conference now!  We can’t wait to see you in Norman!
